Greg Denny

Executive Officer

Greg has over 15 years’ experience in sport management and joined Queensland Canoeing in October 2015. Greg is responsible for general management, organisational governance and QC staff to support the promotion, development and growth of paddlesport in Queensland.

Prior to joining Queensland Canoeing, Greg held senior roles within the Australian Rugby Union, leading the administration, governance, and development of participation strategy nationally. Greg has also worked extensively in events management, university sport and has work closely with State bodies, local associations and clubs in delivering education programs to assist volunteers improve the running of their clubs.

Greg is passionate about sport and recreation – the enjoyment, health benefits and sense of community it brings. Greg is actively involved in a variety of sports as a participant, coach, manager, volunteer and parent.

Greg has a Bachelor of Arts – Leisure Management (Griffith University) and Masters of Commerce Degree (University of Sydney).

Michelle Scoccimarro

Operations  Officer

Michelle Scoccimarro – Operations Officer

Michelle has over 20 years’ experience in administration and has spent the last four years in events management. She joined Queensland Canoeing in 2015. Michelle is responsible for coordinating events, club and member administration and communications.

Prior to joining Queensland Canoeing, Michelle worked in an event management company. Her background is in the financial analysis of business operations.

Michelle is passionate about grass roots engagement in sports and the myriad of benefits it brings for children. She enjoys being a volunteer in a number of different sports.

Michelle has a degree in Economics with First Class Honours (University of Queensland).

Steven Rowland

Recreation & Education Officer

Steven has over 30 years’ experience from around the world working and playing in the outdoors.  Having joined Queensland Canoeing at the start of 2016, Steven is responsible for managing all Recreation and Education programs & activities.

Prior to joining Queensland Canoeing, Steven ran his own multi award winning adventure tourism and outdoor education business in far north Queensland for 20 years.

Steven is passionate about paddling and playing in the outdoors, looking after the environment and the benefits it produces.  Steve is involved in a number of other sports as a teacher, volunteer and parent.

Steven has a Diploma of Business and Work, Health and Safety (Churchill Education) and is an Australian Canoeing Advanced Instructor and Assessor for Whitewater Kayak, Canoe and Sea Kayak.

As well as many wonderful and hard working instructors, coaches, officials, volunteers and committee members.
