How to Join a QC Club

Your local club can help you with information about becoming a QC member:

QC Clubs

Club fees vary according to what they offer, eg use of club boats, basic instruction, club house facilities (if applicable)

Some clubs offer their members coaching, training in squads, group trips and social paddles in a range of disciplines. Some clubs offer storage of private craft for a moderate fee

Go to the clubs link to see the list of Queensland clubs and their contact details and they will guide you through the joining process including how to join and pay online via the QC/AC membership system

Come and Try Programs

Most clubs offer a Come and Try program for Trial Canoeist so you can “test the waters” before committing to a full club membership. Their website will usually show details of all session times if you would prefer to just to call in and meet members and coaches.

Insurance

Individual Members and Affiliated Clubs of Queensland Canoeing are covered by a comprehensive National Insurance Program designed by V Insurance Group.

Registered members are covered when paddling a range of craft, including ocean racing skis, surf kayaks and wave skis, etc. As well as Personal Accident coverage for individual members, the program provides Professional Indemnity cover to club officials, instructors and coaches (who are also members), Association and Public Liability.

Full details can be found in the Insurance Section of the Queensland Canoeing website

Event Sanctioning

Clubs run Sanctioned Events for their members, which may include an option for non-members (Trail Canoeists) to participate with a slightly higher fee to cover insurance.

See Event Sanctioning page for more details.
