Peter has a long history of involvement in canoeing and the administration of the sport firstly with Indooroopilly Canoe Club and since 2000 with Springfield Centenary Canoe Club which he is a co founder and current President.
Peter has a extensive kayak collection reflecting his diversified interest in the sport. He plays canoe polo, does sea kayaking trips, surf kayaks, whitewater and play boating and trains in a TK1 on the river. Peter has paddled white water in Nepal, England and Scotland and is a keen advocate for a local whitewater facility. Peter is also a co-founder of Centenary Rowing Club, the first new rowing club to be established on the Brisbane river in 90 years and recognises the importance of infrastructure and by water storage for our sport.
Peter is also involved in boat design and manufacture, grant writing, governmental liaison, coaching and junior development. Peter’s domains of interest at QC are polo, marathon and education.
Peter was elected as an Interested Director in April 2013 and re-elected to another 2 year term at the 2015 AGM.
Peter was elected to President of Queensland Canoeing in September 2017.
