WHAT A START TO THE YEAR!

2016 has started at a furious pace, with several national, state and local club events already run and won, and many other events planned for the coming months.

The QC Office has welcomed new staff with Steven Rowland, commencing in January as Recreation and Education Officer, while Michelle Scoccimarro, QC Operations Officer will now be responsible for coordinating events/technical committees, club/member liaison and office administration. We also welcome Alyce Burnett our Olympic hope who is assisting QC with our media and marketing presence!

The QC Board has also had some changes with the appointment of our newest Board director, Allana Bold and the formation of the ‘Audit and Risk’ and ‘Strategic Planning’ Committees. A special thanks to outgoing Board members Judith Holmes, Allan Satterthwaite and Susan Mercer for their respective contributions to QC.

Technical Committees for Marathon, Sprints and Canoe Polo have all been flat out with respective state and national events. Thanks to outgoing technical committee Chair’s, S’Tfan Horne, Sprint and Lynwen Birch, Marathon for their outstanding contributions to their respective disciplines.  Expressions of interest are now open for these Committee Chair positions, as well as, Committee Members for Sprint technical committee.

Clubs too have been very busy organising their many club events (including some very big events!), conducting recreation programs and courses, introducing new members and planning for their future success.

There has been a lot more happening as you can read in the e-news below.

Regards,

Greg Denny
