Executive Officer Update

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome to Queensland Canoeing!

Since arriving at QC in late September, the first few months have certainly been busy as we prepare for the year ahead.

2016 will be an exciting year with a number of Queensland representative  athletes, para-athletes, coaches and officials challenging for positions and hopefully heading off to the Olympics in Rio.

In addition, a number of national and state events will be hosted by our QC Disciplinary Committees, including the 2016 Qld State Sprint Championships (30-31 Jan), 2016 Australian Canoe Marathon Championships (25-27 March), 2016 Australian Canoe Polo Championships (7-10 April) all being hosted on the Gold Coast.

The focus for QC next year will include -

• - regular club visits to increase club and member engagement;

  - ensuring QC office is better resourced to improve our service to clubs, members, committees and maximise program delivery;

• - supporting and promoting events at all levels; and

•

• - a new strategic planning cycle for 2017 and beyond.

QC wishes all the best for a safe and merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
