Are you interested in becoming a foundation coach?

The foundation coach works with beginners and recreational paddlers to introduce the basic paddling skills common to all canoe/kayak disciplines. Key discipline specific skills are also introduced. Foundation accreditation is suited to coaches introducing paddlers at canoe clubs and in schools.

Course Requirements (summary): The participant will need to complete 2 online courses prior to course, complete the 1 day course, and post-course complete a log book of coaching sessions, produce a session plan and have an practical assessment by an assessor. Participants for this course must be over 18 years of age.

Course Date: Saturday 14 July 2018 (8am – 4pm)
Location: Sandgate Canoe Club (Volunteer Marine Rescue), Allpass Parade Shorncliffe

Cost: From Monday 11 June to Saturday 30 June 2018, Qld Canoeing Members discount will apply (inclusive of these dates)
– $100 Qld Canoeing Members

From 1 July 2018 any remaining course places will also be opened to non-members to attend (no discount will apply)
– $150 for non-members and Queensland Canoeing members.

Course fee does not include Paddle Australia coach registration fee of $44 for 4 years.
