In a recent information session SEQ Water revealed information on the planned upgrade of Leslie Harrison Dam

It was a very informative presentation about the costs of the upgrade and explaining that though the gates will not be put back on all engineering facts and the science behind their work shows with the improvements being taken the dam will be substantially safer for next 150 years and effective capacity increase by 3 times.

They also spoke about the importance of the dam catchment area as vital wildlife corridor and the re-planting they intend doing in this area.   Unfortunately due to the dam being a main drinking water catchment, it will remain with no recreational activity being allowed.

Seqwater will be hosting a drop-in session at the Capalaba Library 2.30pm – 5pm, Thursday 14th September 2017.
