Congratulations to the organizers and the 140+ paddlers who participated in the 2017 Gold Coast Classic Ocean Race on Saturday 7th January in conditions that were best described as testing and very gnarly as the competitors departed from North Kirra and returned to the beach finish at Tallebudgera Surf Life Saving Club.
The star studded field competing for the 2017 Queensland Ocean Racing Championships included Australian Olympians, Ken Wallace, Alyce Burnett, Alyssa Bull, Jordan Wood and Riley Fitzsimmons.
Bruce Taylor crossed the line first in the Open Men’s Ski followed by Jeremy Cotter, Mark Anderson, Cory Hill, David Rhodes and Kenny Wallace.
Brianna Maddie crosses first in the Open Women’s Ski followed by Alyce Burnett, Alyssa Bull, and Tegan Fraser.
Jordan Wood and Riley Fitzsimon first across the line in a Men’s Double Ski for the Gold Coast Classic Ocean Race.
