Two new awards are now available on the AC website.
New Statement of attainment requirements
Statement of Attainment
Through a partnership with Scouts Australia Institute of training students who undertake a Flatwater course and assessment under the Australian Canoeing Award Scheme can receive a Statement of Attainment.
How do I gain a Statement of Attainment?
– The AC Assessor must also hold a cert IV TAE in Training and Assessment
– SOA must be requested at the same time as the Australian Canoeing award
– Scouts Australia RPL forms must be completed and return to AC with the AC assessment record.
Please note: The RPL forms are available on the Australian Canoeing website http://canoe.org.au/education-safety/australian-canoeing-award-scheme-acas/
or from an AC assessor holding a TAE in Training and Assessment, not all Australian Canoeing qualified assessors hold a TAE are can therefore not request a Statement of Attainment
What units are issued in the Statement of Attainment?
You can view the units under the ACAS section of the Australian Canoeing website at:
What is a Statement of Attainment?
A Statement of Attainment is a list of units of competency. These units are part of the Outdoor Recreation training package and can be used as credit towards a Certificate III in Outdoor Recreation.
Why do I want a Statement of Attainment?
A small number of employers may ask for a Statement of Attainment. However, an ACAS award is a peak body award that shows your currency in canoeing/kayaking and should be sufficient for most employers.
